Phantom Blade Zero Wiki: Bosses, Weapons & Walkthroughs

A focused Phantom Blade Zero wiki: boss order and fight breakdowns, all weapons and Phantom Edges, skill routes, builds, endings, and a full walkthrough.

Last Updated: 2026-10-30

Phantom Blade Zero is a wuxia action RPG from S-GAME Studio. You play Soul, a swordsman framed for killing his master, with a wound in his chest and sixty-six days left to live. The road through the Wulin is a chain of tight, readable duels: parry the blue flash, dodge the red flash, break the guard, and keep moving.

This wiki is built around that loop. It does not try to reproduce the whole game script. It answers the questions players actually type while playing: which boss is next, what that attack cue means, which weapon matches the fight, and what has to be done before the finale.

The Digital Deluxe upgrade adds the Wulin Legend and Blood-Steel Form outfits, a digital art book, and the soundtrack. It does not add missions or weapons, so the standard edition is enough for a first run. More edition and platform detail is on the release date page.

The 66-day structure

The countdown is narrative, not a timer that expires while you explore. The game moves through chapters, each opening a new region: Weeping Creek Valley, Crimson Forest, the Village of Lu, Pangzhen, the Mandate Encampment, and Meigu Lake. Bells act as checkpoints. Resting at a bell restores HP and medicine, reveals nearby map detail, and lets you train abilities with Remnant Dust.

The critical structural point is that side content is the ending system. Phantom Blade Zero has multiple ending variants tied to how much optional material you complete, and the best ending requires a specific set of hidden bosses, masks, pillars, and relics. If you intend to see it on the first run, read the endings guide before the game warns you about the final point of no return.

Combat in one screen

Three resources decide every fight:

  • HP is the red bar. Medicine restores it; bells refill medicine.
  • Sha-Chi is the yellow gauge. Attacking with Triangle and holding guard both spend it. Parrying restores pressure because it does not consume Sha-Chi and drains the enemy's gauge.
  • Remnant Spark powers Phantom Edges. Charges are shared between your two equipped edges and refill at bells.

The defensive read is deliberately simple:

Cue Answer Input
Blue flash Parry Tap L1 just before impact
Red flash Dodge R1, ideally with a direction
No flash, heavy swing Block, strafe, or parry Hold L1 or move behind
Enemy Sha-Chi empty Execute or burst Circle / heavy combo

That is the whole language. The difficulty comes from doing it at speed, while managing your own Sha-Chi so a guard does not leave you empty. The parry guide covers timing, whiffs, and the attacks that look parryable but are not.

What to do in the first two hours

  1. Learn the Perfect Combo timing on Wooden Sanguine. The starter blade glows after a standard or Sha-Chi attack; pressing the matching input on the glow produces a stronger follow-up. This is the safest place to learn attack rhythm.
  2. Buy Healing Art early. One extra medicine charge matters more than a small damage node when you are still learning a boss.
  3. Do not hoard Remnant Dust. Abilities can be reset at any bell with a full refund, so experiment. The skills guide lists the nodes that change fights rather than the ones that only add percentages.
  4. Fight every optional scarecrow you find. Four Acolyte encounters are required for the perfect ending, and each one drops an elemental mask.
  5. Upgrade one weapon to level 10 before spreading materials. The milestone passive is usually a bigger jump than a second weapon at level 3.

How this wiki handles numbers

Weapon and ability pages only publish values the game shows: levels, costs, slot counts, and milestone passives. Damage percentages that are not displayed in-game are described as behaviour, not invented statistics. Boss pages separate a move's cue from its answer, and mark the moves that have no reliable punish instead of pretending every animation is a free hit.

The game is new. If a patch changes a value or an attack, the page date at the top of each guide reflects the last review. Corrections can be sent through the about page.

FAQ

Is Phantom Blade Zero a Soulslike?

No. It uses checkpoints, a healing resource, and demanding bosses, but enemies do not respawn endlessly and the defensive system is built around a two-colour parry/dodge read rather than stamina management. Difficulty is adjustable at any time.

How long is Phantom Blade Zero?

The main story is roughly 20–30 hours. A completion-minded first run with side quests, hidden bosses, and the perfect ending requirements is closer to 40 hours.

Do I need to play Phantom Blade (2026) first?

No. Phantom Blade Zero is a standalone story with a new protagonist and setting. Familiarity with the earlier game is not required.

Can I change difficulty mid-game?

Yes. Difficulty can be adjusted from the settings menu, and boss fights have mid-fight checkpoint retries on the lower settings, so a wall does not force a restart.

Where should I start on this site?

Read the beginner guide, then keep the boss order open while you play. If you care about the best ending, read the endings guide before the final chapter.
